Casper College Community Education Spring 2020 Classes

Interested in drawing, painting and talking about art while meeting new people and getting out of the house?  I will be offering the following classes through the Community Education and OLLIE programs at Casper College.

Beginning / Intermediate Watercolor - Tuesdays 2:00-4:00, six weeks, Feb. 4 through March 10.  This class uses discussion, demonstration, and painting to explore the  wonderful medium of watercolor.  Painters of all skill levels are welcome.  Learn to “think in watercolor”as we explore the techniques and methods for handling the medium.  Discover how to plan your paintings and the sequence from start to finish; how to use color and value; and how to apply design principles to  improve your work.

Drawing  for Fun - Wednesdays 2:00-4:00, six weeks, Feb. 5 through March 11. This class is for anyone who enjoys doodling, sketching, and drawing.  Improve your skills and learn techniques and methods to refine your drawings and achieve greater pleasure and confidence.  From finely rendered drawings to fantasy and cartoon, learn about principles that fuel your work and compliment your personal style.

A Roving Conversation on Art (OLLIE) - Wednesdays 2:00-4:00, four weeks, April 1 through April 22.

A class for artists and art lovers who wish to view the artwork at local museums, galleries, and exhibitions then join in freewheeling discussions about what we’ve seen.  Topics will reflect the participants interests, but could include finding meaning in art, art history, the art making process, and understanding modern art.  We don’t have all the answers, but we do have lively discussions!

Bridger's Journey Invited to Western Spirit Art Show and Sale

My recently completed studio painting,  Bridger's Journey,  was invited to participate in the 38th Western Spirit Art Show and Sale at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum.     I am pleased that Bridger's Journey has made it's public debut in this authentically western venue.
